We focus on the hidden gems of Japan’s snow country: Nozawa Onsen, Myoko Kogen, Madarao, and the other resorts where the powder is just as deep, the lift lines are shorter, and the onsen at the end of the day feels like it was made for you.

We’re winter sports enthusiasts with deep roots in Japan’s ski industry. We’ve spent years riding these mountains, building relationships with local guides, ryokan owners, and resort insiders. Everything we recommend comes from firsthand experience — not a press trip or a paid placement.
